Orthotic management
Orthotic management means using a splint or brace so the hand, wrist, or leg can still do daily tasks. The visit covers wear schedule, skin checks, and how to dress and wash with it on.
Who this helps
- You were given a splint and are not sure when to wear it
- A hand, wrist, or ankle brace is getting in the way of dressing or meals
- Skin is red or the orthosis no longer fits the way you live
- You want the device to support a task, not sit in a drawer
What a visit includes
- A look at how the orthosis fits into the day
- Practice dressing, bathing, and eating with it on
- A simple wear schedule you can keep
- When to call the clinic if the skin or the fit changes

Questions
Do you make custom splints?
Stephanie reviews the orthosis you have and how you use it. A custom device, if needed, is discussed before anything is ordered.
Is this for hands only?
Hands and wrists are the most common. Braces that change how you dress, walk in the house, or get up are included too.
